Okay, we know our music, for the most part, isn't exactly the commercial type.
So we've set up this page for you to donate to our cause/practicle joke. Just
donate one dollar and we'll consider it a "sale". (50-cent's we'll call, half a
sale, 25= a quarter of a sale, 10-cents 1/10th of a sale, etc.)
It's up to you, but if you downloaded an MP3 album, at least you'd have a
few songs for your dollar! If you don't have a PayPal account, you can still
use your credit/debit card, or bank account, where available.
Okay, we know what you're thinking, "Whoa now! Hold on there! How do I know that button
will really take me to PayPal?!"
Well, for one, it would be incredibly dumb of us to try and use this for password phishing.,
since the company hosting this site,PayPal, and the company hosting our MP3 files have the
webmaster's and MD's physical addresses on file!
But, we thought we'd give you a couple of tricks so you can avoid getting caught by phishers!
Many of you have no doubt gotten an e-mail at one time or another stating "Dear Member,
we need you to verify ..."
An e-mail from PayPal will NEVER start out with "dear member". It will always start out with
your actual name!
So, say you've clicked on a link in one of these e-mails.(Not recommended, by the way). But,
since you're there now, it certainly looks like PayPal's site.
Uh-uh.
The first thing to look for is the Verisign authentication. It looks like an image of a little
padlock in your browsers address bar. Hover the cursor over it, and it will display some
information. Also, your address bar should turn green. (On some Firefox browsers, only part
of the bar turns green).
Another trick-also not recommended-is to enter a fake address and password. If it looks like
you logged in successfully, you know it's a fake site! (at which point you should copy the URL,
and paste it in an e-mail reporting the fake site to spoof@paypal.com!)
